Research on Tap with Dr. Reichard
Thursday, August 31, 2017
Mason Reichard, Ph.D., professor of Veterinary Pathobiology at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, will kick off Research on Tap on Monday, Sept. 18, at 5:30 p.m. at the Iron Monk Brewery Taproom located at 519 South Husband in Stillwater.
Research on Tap is a new series designed to give the public an opportunity to learn about various OSU research projects and interact with the experts leading those studies.
Reichard will discuss his research on Cytauxzoonosis, a tick-borne disease caused by Cytauxzoon felis or C. felis. Infection of C. felis in cats is devastating and often cats succumb to cytauxzoonosis. Dr. Reichard will share the work that has been done in this area including efforts to help control this disease in cats across the United States.
In partnership with Oklahoma State University Division of the Vice President for Research and Iron Monk Brewery, Research on Tap is open to the public at no charge. Each session will be approximately 20 minutes of open dialogue between Dr. Kenneth Sewell, Vice President for Research, and the researcher followed by questions and discussion from the audience.
