Woody Named OSU Distinguished Alumnus

Dr. Timothy J. Woody of Siloam Springs, Ark., has been named a 2017 Distinguished Alumnus of Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. Woody, who retired from private practice in 2009, earned his DVM degree from OSU in 1971.
Dr. Woody worked in a mixed animal veterinary practice in Siloam Springs for 25 years. He then purchased a small animal clinic in Fayetteville, Ark., where he worked for 13 years. Although retired, Woody does contract veterinary work four days a week.
Throughout his career, Dr. Woody has been extremely active in organized veterinary medicine. He is a member of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association, the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Southwest Veterinary Symposium. He served as the Arkansas delegate in the AVMA House of Delegates for 20 years. He also served as president of the Arkansas VMA in 1996. He was a founding member of the SWVS and served in multiple roles including the board of directors from 2004 to 2010 and as president from 2008 to 2009.
In 2001, Woody received the Arkansas Veterinarian of the Year Award. His colleagues see him as influential, a true leader, and a loyal OSU Cowboy. Throughout the years, Dr. Woody has mentored numerous veterinary students and younger veterinarians. His service displays his dedication to the profession of veterinary medicine and warrants this recognition.
Dr. Woody will be honored at a Distinguished Alumni Award Luncheon to be held on Friday, Nov. 10, at 11:30 a.m. in Room 101 at the Wes Watkins Center located on the Oklahoma State University Stillwater campus.
