Vote for Dr. Lawrence McGill for District 9 AVMA Representative

Vote for Dr. Lawrence McGill for District 9 AVMA Representative

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Lawrence (Larry) McGill, DVM, PhD, DACVP, is campaigning to represent Oklahoma, Utah, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico as the American Veterinary Medical Association representative for District 9. Voting occurs digitally in March 2018. Watch for an email from the AVMA concerning voting. McGill is a 1968 DVM graduate and a 2017 Distinguished Alumnus of the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences.

McGill has been involved in organized veterinary medicine for more than 35 years. This includes AVMA, Nebraska and Utah Veterinary Medical Associations and the American College of Veterinary Pathology. He has served on numerous committees, task forces and a Council which has provided valuable insight as to AVMA workings and how to interact with the efficient AVMA staff.

“My major goal is for broad communications with all specialties and species and to enhance efforts directed toward making the AVMA relevant to all members,” said McGill. “Young veterinarians should be encouraged to explore all aspects of veterinary medicine to find an endeavor that helps them grow, develop and enjoy their professional career. Many benefits are available with AVMA membership including resources for member and practice health and wellness issues, and more. All my work with AVMA committees has stressed transparency and member communications. These labors will continue if elected. I feel that my experience on many AVMA committees will be a great asset to District 9 as I represent veterinarians on the AVMA Board.”
