Tuesday, July 23, 2019

Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences welcomes Rosslyn Biggs, DVM, as the director of continuing education and beef cattle extension specialist. She comes to the center with 14 years of veterinary experience in large animal practice and public service.

“Dr. Biggs has developed a long-standing relationship and networking with the Oklahoma beef cattle industry that includes veterinarians, producers and students,” said Dr. Carlos Risco, dean of the veterinary center. “She has a strong mix of administrative skills, leadership, knowledge in beef cattle production medicine and a successful continuing education record.”

In her new role, Biggs will work closely with extension specialists in the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service and with the center’s Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences providing oversight for the quality, effectiveness and progress of their missions of continuing education and extension.

Biggs commented, “I am excited to join the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences and look forward to serving the veterinary community and beef cattle industry in this new role. I am fortunate to join a great team and hope to add value through collaboration and innovation.”

Originally from Chickasha, Oklahoma, Biggs earned her BS degree in Agricultural Economics (2001) and her DVM degree (2004) both from Oklahoma State University. Prior to joining OSU Biggs worked as assistant veterinarian in charge at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Veterinary Services in Oklahoma City.
