Thursday, March 7, 2019
US Equestrian recently announced the 2019-2020 team staff members for U.S. Endurance. Oklahoma State University’s Dr. Todd Holbrook will serve as one of five members comprising the Veterinary Advisory Group.
“I work with a great group of veterinarians, selectors and US Equestrian staff,” explained Dr. Holbrook, professor, equine section chief, and June Jacobs Endowed Chair in Veterinary Medicine at OSU’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. “We evaluate equine endurance athletes and participate in the United States team selection process. We also provide veterinary oversight of the horses between and during major competitions such as the World Equestrian Games and other International Endurance Championships.”
Holbrook, a board certified equine internal medicine specialist at the Center’s Veterinary Medical Hospital, has been working with US Equestrian since 2007.
“I really enjoy representing our country,” added Holbrook. “This has been a wonderful experience for me. I have an opportunity to work with exceptional equine athletes and veterinary colleagues in really cool places around the world.”
