Oklahoma State and Haramaya Universities Meet

Monday, November 25, 2019

Several Oklahoma State University administrators recently met with Adem Hiko, PhD, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the Haramaya University in Ethiopia, to discuss possible areas of collaboration with OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Since the 1950s, Ethiopia and Oklahoma State University have been working together to modernize Ethiopian education in general and Ethiopian agriculture specifically. Hiko gave a brief presentation to the OSU group to open discussions about joint research in tropical animal production and health, disease control tactics, faculty and student exchange opportunities and community education programs as well as funds available for such collaborations.
