OSU Veterinary College Receives Research Funding from Aurora Pharmaceutical

Tuesday, May 4, 2021

Aurora Pharmaceutical recently donated more than $2,800 to Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine to help support equine house officer research projects.

House officer residency programs have a required research component and acquiring funding for small research projects can be challenging. Aurora’s donation will have a positive impact on the college’s equine house officer training programs and Oklahoma State’s research mission.

"Previous donations from Aurora Pharmaceutical helped fund Dr. Kelsey Jurek’s research, 'Effect of perfusate volume on synovial fluid amikacin concentrations following saphenous intravenous regional limb perfusion in the standing, sedated horse,' which she won third place for in the Phi Zeta Research Day competition,” Dr. Mike Schoonover said. “We should have an article on the research published soon.”

Jurek is an equine surgery resident mentored by Schoonover.
