Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine students continue to excel on the national stage, achieving a 97% pass rate on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) for the class of 2025.
The NAVLE assesses the knowledge, skills and competencies required for entry-level private clinical practice as a veterinarian in North America. OSU's pass rates have exceeded the national average every year since 2013.
OSU CVM students demonstrated particular strength in several areas, including production animal medicine, equine medicine, preventive medicine and animal welfare, reproductive medicine, dermatology, and respiratory diseases.
“Our program here at Oklahoma State continues to cement a legacy of excellence in professional education — not only as seen in our exceptional pass rates for our national board exams, but also in the excellence of our graduates as they enter the workforce as day-one practice-ready veterinarians,” said Dr. Jennifer Rudd, interim associate dean of academic affairs.
Rudd said the exam results reflect the breadth of OSU’s veterinary curriculum.
“Our NAVLE pass rates show the strength of our program in areas ranging from agriculture and production medicine to companion animal care and equine practice,” Rudd said. “We recruit outstanding students, pair them with dedicated educators and prepare them to make immediate, positive impacts in their communities.”
The success of OSU veterinary students on the NAVLE underscores the college’s mission to prepare well-rounded veterinarians who are equipped to serve both animals and communities nationwide.
