The Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine Continuing Education and the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association hosted the 2025 Summer Seminar June 12 -13 in a virtual format, providing accessible continuing education for veterinary professionals.

The seminar featured three tracks: One Health, Companion Animal and Large Animal. Experts kicked of the seminar with the One-Health track followed by the Companion and Large animal tracks offering attendees valuable content tailored to their interests.

Topics ranged from ultrasonography to sustainable parasite control, with speakers joining from across the globe. Attendees accessed sessions through an interactive webinar platform, allowing them to switch between sessions.

Dr. Mike Pruitt, a licensed veterinarian from Oklahoma and seminar attendee, said he was drawn to the event by the session topics.

“The speakers in the large animal track focused on immediately impactful information for the general practitioner,” Pruitt said.

This year’s seminar saw 115 registered veterinarians, and a total of 174 registrants, including veterinary technicians and speakers from the CVM. The event’s virtual format provided flexibility for those unable to travel, making it easier to earn high-quality CE credits remotely.

“Summer Seminar continues to demonstrate how we can provide impactful continuing education,” said Dr. Rosslyn Biggs, director of continuing education. “By offering high-quality, relevant content in a virtual format, we’re meeting veterinary professionals where they are, whether in the clinic, the field or at home. While still delivering the same level of excellence they expect from OSU.”

Veterinarians still needing CE hours can explore a variety of online offerings by visiting the course catalog. For more information about upcoming CE opportunities through Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine, visit the website, call 405-744-7672 or cvhsevents@okstate.edu.
