Campus Coat Drive to Collect Winter Gear for Those in Need

The Office of Student Life is holding a coat drive on the OSUIT campus to help those in need in Okmulgee. Students, faculty and staff can bring coats, stocking caps, scarves and gloves to Covelle Hall through Wednesday Jan. 31.

Rodriguez Recognized with Regents Distinguished Teaching Award

Mark Rodriguez, OSUIT physics instructor, was recently named a Regents Distinguished Teaching Award winner by the OSU/A&M Board of Regents. This is the second time Rodriguez has received the honor. The first was in the 2013-14 academic year.

Community Offers Helping Hand to Students Moving into GOPO

Three years after OSU Institute of Technology purchased the two-building complex downtown that housed Okmulgee’s first post office, the Grand Old Post Office Student Housing finally welcomed its first student residents. Wednesday was move-in day for OSUIT students, including those who will be the first to live in the GOPO.

Construction Students Receive Free Pair of Wolverine Work Boots

Life experiences and overcoming obstacles were themes shared passionately by the speakers at OSU Institute of Technology’s commencement ceremony for the campus’s 208th graduating class. The nearly 175 graduates sat in their caps and gowns at their commencement ceremony in Covelle Hall on Friday, Dec. 15, and heard from keynote speaker Dr. Regina Foster, an award-winning science instructor in the School of Arts & Sciences who also celebrated her retirement earlier that day.
