Introducing the newest member of the Animal Science faculty, Justin Crosswhite! Justin grew up raising and showing hogs on his family farm in Wyandotte, OK. After graduating from high school, Justin obtained an associates degree from Connors State College where he was a member of the livestock judging team. Justin then attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. After two years in Stillwater, Justin moved across the country to pursue a Master of Science in Meat Science from the University of Florida. While at UF Justin met his wife, Mellissa Crosswhite, who will be joining the Animal Science faculty in December. After obtaining his M.S. degree, Justin and Mellissa moved to Fargo, ND, where Justin had a teaching and youth extension appointment at North Dakota State University, in addition to coaching the livestock judging team.
Justin jumped at the opportunity to come back to his alma mater as a faculty member and the new advisor for freshmen and sophomore students, “I appreciate the opportunity to work with students in what I consider to be one of the top animal science programs in the country.” Justin will also have a teaching appointment in addition to advising students in the Department of Animal Science. Everyone, please give Justin a warm welcome back to our department. We are excited to have him as a member of the animal science faculty!
