Clay Daily Student Spotlight

Thursday, November 16, 2017

Meet Clay Daily, a junior from Mayville, Michigan. Daily said he decided to attend OSU because of its focus on the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources and the passion throughout the halls of the animal science building.

“The professors have cemented me to this department because their goal is that we find success in our future endeavors,” Daily said. “I believe that I’m not only receiving one of the most detailed and modern educations in animal agriculture around the country, but I’m also gaining this education with the most caring and qualified professors and faculty that make the classroom feel like home.”

Daily is pursuing an animal science degree with a business option.

“Because of the various classes that animal science requires you to take, I feel confident that I can enter a sales career with adequate knowledge to speak with customers about their concerns and help create solutions for them.”

He said his family and friends have inspired him to pursue a career in veterinary pharmaceutical sales, and he looks forward to spending next summer as an Elanco Animal Health intern.

“This will hopefully lead to a career upon graduation, where I can continue to help producers raise their livestock in the safest and most efficient way possible,” Daily said.

Daily said he serves as a member of Animal Science Leadership Alliance, treasurer of Collegiate Farm Bureau, CASNR student council representative for Alpha Zeta, and membership development and homecoming director for his agricultural professional fraternity. He also works as a student employee at the Purebred Beef Cattle Center.

“My favorite part of being an OSU Cowboy is the culture that is created from the students on campus, the professors in the classroom, and the alumni across the world,” Daily said. “The culture of OSU and the community of Stillwater has made this place a new home, and my decision to travel to Oklahoma for my education has become one of the best experiences of my life.”
