Tuesday, December 12, 2017
Oklahoma 4-H has been selected as a recipient of a $6,000 scholarship to support sending teams to the National Youth Summit on Healthy Living. Oklahoma 4-H will utilize the funds to send its newly selected State 4-H Healthy Living Ambassadors, a team of six youth who will be selected in late December.
At the summit, high school students develop the knowledge and skills to address today’s issues including nutrition education, physical fitness, wellness and emotional well-being.
National 4‑H Council and National 4‑H Conference Center have partnered with professionals in family consumer science and healthy living to host the summit. Students are trained to create action plans to implement in their communities and teach other youth about what they have learned.
The National Youth Summit on Healthy Living is scheduled for Feb. 16-19, 2018 in Washington, D.C.
