OSU Agricultural Market Outlook program set for Feb. 21

The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service will be hosting an Oklahoma State University Agricultural Market Outlook program on Feb. 21 in a variety of locations about the state.

“Think of the program as one-stop shopping as we will be covering a number of market-related subjects of importance to Oklahoma livestock and crop producers,” said JJ Jones, OSU Cooperative Extension southeast area agricultural economist.

There is no cost to attend. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

“Each host location is part of a multi-media effort, with a number of counties taking part concurrently and using technology to interact with some of Extension’s top experts in their fields,” Jones said. “Contact your local county Extension office if you wish to participate. We are typically listed under ‘County Government’ in local directories.”

Jones will lead sessions about sheep and goat markets. Other experts from OSU’s Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources will include:
● Derrell Peel, OSU Cooperative Extension livestock marketing specialist, who will provide the latest updates and insights about cattle and hogs markets.
● Trent Milacek, OSU Cooperative Extension northwest area agricultural economist, who will lead discussions about the wheat, canola and corn markets.
● Scott Clawson, OSU Cooperative Extension northeast area agricultural economist, who will provide the latest updates about soybeans and grain sorghum.
