OSU to host Deer and Turkey Field Day April 26

Monday, April 3, 2017

Whether it’s bucks, does, hens or gobblers, Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension has you covered.

During the OSU Deer and Turkey Field Day, April 26 from 1-4 p.m. in Stillwater, Oklahoma, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about forest management, rangeland management and food plot management.

“This field day is to help landowners better manage deer and turkey on their property, whether it’s for hunting purposes or for general wildlife improvement,” said Dwayne Elmore, OSU Cooperative Extension wildlife specialist. “The topics chosen are those that can have the most impact to habitat for deer and turkey on a given property. The field day will provide practical advice landowners can implement.”

While this is an OSU event, an expert from the University of Tennessee, Craig Harper, will be assisting in the presentation of the program.

“Dr. Harper is an expert in white-tailed deer management and we are lucky to have him joining us, as his expertise is highly sought after,” Elmore said.

RSVP is not required for this event taking place at the OSU Range Research Station, located west of Stillwater, 2.5 miles south of state highway 51 on South Coyle Rd.
