Student spotlight: Wyatt Catron

Friday, February 10, 2017

Wyatt Catron calls Stillwell, Okla., home and is a pre-veterinary sophomore. He grew up on a commercial Angus operation and showed goats his whole life. When looking for a place to pursue higher education, Wyatt chose OSU because of the family atmosphere. “The sense of family and belonging that you get when you step foot on campus,” Wyatt said. “That was the deciding factor when I was choosing schools.” His leadership and passion for the agricultural industry has landed him positions on the Animal Science Leadership Alliance, the 2017 OSU Meats Judging Team, and the National Institute for Microbial Forensics & Food and Agricultural Biosecurity. Wyatt is an early riser and loves black coffee, which comes in handy for his job at the OSU Sheep and Goat Unit. He plans to become a large animal veterinarian and settle down on a nice farm. Wyatt aspires to dabble in cloning as well, once settled into his career.

His smile and positive attitude is contagious for anyone he comes in contact with. If you see Wyatt on campus, at the Sheep and Goat Unit, or around town, be sure to say hi!
