Friday, June 29, 2007
STILLWATER, OK – In an effort to make sure information about the search for a new
President of Oklahoma State University (OSU) and the OSU system is accessible to the
public, the OSU/A&M Board of Regents has launched a Presidential Search website at
presidentialsearch/
“The website will make it easy to efficiently keep the general public and the broad
OSU community updated on the progress of the Search Committee,” said Joe D. Hall,
Chairman of the OSU/A&M Board of Regents. “The presidential search site is one more
way we can make sure the process is inclusive.”
The website includes a section on the 33-member Search Committee as well as OSU’s
presidential history, press releases, position description statement, advertisements,
and general information. The website also features an interactive component where
visitors can send the Search Committee comments and suggestions and also submit nominations.
“This site will be the best way for those interested in the process to stay informed
of developments, activities, and actions,” commented Regent Douglas E. Burns, Chairman
of the OSU Presidential Search Committee. “The Regents and the Committee believe
this type of access is important to the process and will contribute to making sure
the best-qualified person is selected to lead OSU and the system as we go forward.
We hope people will make it a practice to regularly visit the site and offer us their
thoughts and ideas.”
The OSU/A&M Board of Regents will begin a national advertising initiative seeking
nominations and applications on June 29 and will be accepting applications until August
17, 2007. The Regents expect to name a new President sometime during the fall semester.
The OSU/A&M Board of Regents is the governing board for Oklahoma State University
(OSU) in Stillwater and the OSU system including the Center for Veterinary Health
Sciences in Stillwater, Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, OSU-Tulsa, OSU-Oklahoma
City, OSU-Okmulgee as well as Langston University, Langston; Connors State College
in Warner; Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell; and Northeastern Oklahoma
