Oklahoma State University President Jim Hess has appointed Chris Kuwitzky as senior vice president and chief financial/administrative officer for the OSU System.

The appointment will take effect March 17.

Kuwitzky joins OSU from Langston University, where he has served as vice president for fiscal and administrative affairs since September 2023. He brings extensive experience in higher education financial leadership, with a career spanning more than three decades at Oklahoma institutions.

In his new role at OSU, Kuwitzky will oversee all financial, budget and accounting operations, long-range planning, facilities management, parking and transportation services, the OSU Police Department and public safety, and human resources. He will also provide fiscal affairs support to Langston University.

"Chris's extensive background in higher education finance and his deep understanding of Oklahoma's fiscal landscape make him an ideal addition to the OSU team," Dr. Hess said. "His proven track record of sound financial management and strategic thinking will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen OSU's financial foundation and enhance our service to students. Chris shares our commitment to putting students first in everything we do, ensuring our financial decisions support their success and experience."

Prior to his role at Langston University, Kuwitzky spent 31 years at the University of Oklahoma, where he rose to the position of associate vice president of administration and finance and chief financial officer. His career also includes service as vice president of administration and treasurer at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

"I'm honored to join Oklahoma State University during this important time," said Kuwitzky. "I look forward to working with President Hess and the OSU team to ensure strong fiscal management that supports the university's land-grant mission and strategic priorities while keeping students at the center of our decision-making."

An Oklahoma native, Kuwitzky holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma and earned his certified public accountant designation in 1985. He began his career with Coopers and Lybrand Public Accountants (now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Oklahoma City. His appointment is planned for confirmation by the OSU/A&M Board of Regents at its next regularly scheduled meeting in April.
