OSU College of Education Recognizes Top Graduate Students for 2016

Anthony R. Lee is the Outstanding Graduate Assistant for the School of Applied Health and Educational
Psychology. Lee is slated to complete a Masters of Public Health at OSU this summer.
He has served as a graduate teaching assistant and research team member in the College
of Education. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Georgia State
University in 2013.
“Anthony has been a role model for other graduate students both in and out of the classroom,” Bridget Miller said. “As a Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA) for the Total Wellness class, he started as an instructor for the smaller discussion sections. Because of his commitment to students and the craft of good teaching, he was promoted to serve as the main instructor for one of the large lecture sections. He is always willing to work with and mentor the other, more junior, Total Wellness GTAs. On the research side, Anthony is very involved in a number of projects through Dr. Hubach’s Sexual Health Research Lab. He has demonstrated a passion for understanding health disparities among marginalized populations. Anthony has the tools to make a real difference in the field of Public Health.
Milad Mohebali is the Outstanding Graduate Assistant for the School of Educational Studies. Mohebali is pursuing a Master of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs. He has served as a graduate teaching assistant in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program and worked with faculty on research projects. Mohebali has also been active with the OSU Graduate and Professional Student Government Association and volunteer with the Building Resilient Communities project collaborating … Mohebali is originally from Tehran, Iran, and holds degrees in material and science engineering from Tehran Polytecnic and K.N. Toosi S&T University.
Jenny Peters is the Outstanding Graduate Assistant for the School of Teaching and Curriculum Leadership. Peters
is pursuing a Ph.D., in Professional Education Studies, Mathematics Education with
an expected graduation date of May, 2018. Peters is a graduate research associate
in the College of Education. Peters has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering
from the University of Texas-Austin and a master’s degree in mathematics from the
University of Texas at Arlington.
“Jenny is dedicated to changing the way students think and feel about mathematics,” mathematics education assistant professor Adrienne Sanogo said. “She is passionate about making sure that students leave her classroom with a strong understanding of mathematics. It has been a joy to watch her passion for teaching and learning of mathematics grow.
“Jenny brings strong engineering and mathematics content knowledge to her study of and research in mathematics education,” associate professor and Interim Associate Dean Juliana Utley said. “ Jenny has a craving to learn and do research. She is currently working on two different research projects with different faculty to help develop a deeper understanding of doing applied research,” Juliana Utley said.
These students will be recognized on Friday, May 6, 2016, during the College of Education Excellence Awards reception.
