PhD Student Tara Dalinger Honored for Innovation

Oklahoma State University student Tara Dalinger was the winner of the 2017 UCO EXCEL Awards. Dalinger is pursuing her Ph. D. in Education with an option in Educational Technology at OSU and is a faculty member at the University of Central Oklahoma.
The UCO Excel Awards recognize inspiration and innovation in learning and teaching at UCO. Dalinger won the grand prize for her innovative course, “IME 5863 School Library Technology.”
This course serves as a way for students to become certified library media specialists. School Library Technology develops leadership and innovation among students by allowing them to explore the area of educational technology through programs such as Desire2Learn (D2L), an integrated learning platform for students. Students become technology integration leaders by applying this innovative technology to their instructional practices and exploring the features of D2L. This course serves as a collaborative environment for students to share feedback, explore educational technology and impact student learning.
