EHA Faculty and Students Attend NSTA Conference

Oklahoma State University College of Education, Health and Aviation students and faculty members recently attended the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The event is the largest K-12 science education conference in the United States and promotes excellence and innovation in science teaching.

Dr. Julie Angle, associate professor in science education; Ms. Amy Olson, clinical assistant professor for OSUTeach; and Dr. Donald French, professor in integrative biology for the College of Arts and Sciences, attended the conference from March 15-18. Student representatives included Caitlin Cobbs, Nichole Jones, Kyle Goebel and Brittnie Paul. Also in attendance were four recent graduates from the OSU science education program, Cara Stephens, Josh Keegan, Emily Gallaway and Courtney Loveless. The group assisted Angle with her Yellowstone National Park presentation and attended conference sessions.  

“Becoming a member of a professional organization provides science teachers with professional development opportunities designed to strengthen their pedagogical content knowledge in the classroom,” Angle said.
