The Oklahoma State University Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs recently selected Dr. Bert Jacobson, professor in health and human performance and associate dean for research, engagement and administration, as the Outstanding Faculty Member from the College of Education, Health and Aviation. Jacobson will be recognized at the 2018 Greek Awards presentation on April 4.
Honorees are selected by fraternity and sorority members who submit nominations for each of the academic colleges. The award celebrates faculty mentorship and recognizes the integral role faculty play in the development of students.
“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Jacobson. “When I was in school, I had one professor who significantly impacted my life and I am forever grateful for that. I now have the opportunity to be that person for my students and, hopefully, make a difference in their lives.”
Jacobson has been a member of the OSU faculty since 1984 and has more than 10 years of administrative experience within the college. His research interest include athletic performance, ergogenic supplements and fall prevention. In 2014, Jacobson was promoted to Regents Professor, the most prestigious rank that may be attained in recognition of scholarship accomplishments at OSU.
