New EHA Staff Awards to Honor Creativity, Innovation and Mentorship

Wednesday, April 18, 2018

The Oklahoma State University College of Education, Health and Aviation will recognize two staff members with inaugural awards during the EHA Excellence Awards reception on Friday, May 11.

The Mentor Award recognizes a staff member who has successfully mentored and encouraged colleagues to reach their fullest potential in the college and their career. It emphasizes the importance of servant leadership and helping others achieve their goals. Receiving this year’s award is Sue Goad, senior administrative support specialist for the Education Outreach Office. Goad has been at OSU for more than 25 years, 18 of which with the College of Education, Health and Aviation. Throughout that time she has been a dedicated member of EHA’s Staff Action Team, in addition to serving on the OSU Staff Advisory Council.

The recipient of the EHA Staff Creativity and Innovation Award is Vallory Vencill, Manager of Education Outreach. This award recognizes staff members whose big ideas and creative thinking help address challenges in the college and emphasizes the importance of innovation, collaboration and creativity. Vencill has been a part of the EHA for 10 years and has played a key role in program growth through strategic data analysis of enrollment trends. Recent Education Outreach initiatives include implementing new grant incentives and developing additional revenue streams for the college.

Nominations for both awards were submitted by faculty, staff and students and final selections were made by the EHA Staff Action Team subcommittee. In addition to being honored at the EHA Excellence Awards, Goad and Vencill will each receive $500.
