The broad range of innovative research and creativity in the College of Education and Human Sciences was on display during the 2025 3-Minute Thesis (3MT®) event on Friday, Oct. 10 in Jorns Hall.
Developed in 2008 by the University of Queensland, 3MT encourages graduate students to present their research to a lay audience in three minutes or less, with the support of only a single, unanimated slide.
There were 12 students competing in the competition. After student presentations were completed, CEHS faculty Dr. Aditya Jayadas and Dr. Rachel Liebe presented research in the same format as students.
Four awards were given out after the competition with a cash prize for each of the winners.
Elisabeth Arnold Ingram, a Ph.D student in the counseling psychology program, placed first and received $300. Ingram presented her research “The Power of Response: Supporting Survivors Through Science.” She received $300 and will advance to the universitywide 3MT competition that will take place on Nov. 4.
She praised both Oklahoma State University and CEHS for its dedication to ensuring students are equipped with the skills necessary for success.
“I feel like we have so many opportunities to develop and get out on our growth edge,” she said. “There is so much support and I really appreciate that. It’s stood out to me ever since I got here.”
Ingram said she was honored to win the CEHS 3MT competition, and is eager to begin improving her presentation for the universitywide competition.
“I am extremely grateful,” she said. “I was so impressed with my competitors that I didn’t think I would place.”
The People's Choice Award Winner received $300 and the second ($200) and third place winners ($100) also earned a cash prize.
