CEAT faculty and staff honored at the 2024 University Awards Convocation

Oklahoma State University Provost Jeanette Mendez and Vice Provost Dr. Chris Francisco recognized faculty, staff and administrators for their achievements in 2024 at the University Awards Convocation on Dec. 13 in the Student Union Ballroom.

Recipients who were recognized were nominated by supervisors and colleagues. 

“This annual celebration recognizes and commemorates the outstanding achievements of so many OSU faculty and staff,” Dr. Mendez said. “And while this ceremony is something we do every year, I continue to be amazed at the dedication and innovative spirit of the OSU family.” 

CEAT honorees included the following:

Eminent Faculty Award
Dr. Raj Singh — Regents Professor, Materials Science and Engineering
This award, with at $10,000 stipend, is the highest honor given to a faculty member who has made sustained contributions to scholarly creative activity, instruction and service, bringing honor and recognition to the university.

Land-Grant Award for Excellence
Dr. Jeff Sadler — Assistant Professor, Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering
This award was established to recognize a faculty member whose exemplary contributions promote the land-grant mission. The recipient receives a $1,000 stipend.

Distinguished Early Career Faculty Award
Dr. Yu Feng — Assistant Professor, Chemical Engineering
This award, with a $2,000 stipend, recognizes faculty who were awarded tenure within the past three years and have demonstrated a strong potential for continued contributions to the university and to their profession in the areas of instruction, research and creative activity, and/or extension/outreach.

President’s Fellows Research Award
Dr. John O’Hara — Associate Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering
This award supports faculty by equipping them to conduct groundbreaking research. Awardees must be tenured faculty within five years of their date of tenure, and awards, up to $20,000 each, are given as one-time grants to be expended over a period of no more than one year.

Regents Distinguished Research Award
Dr. Brian Elbing — Associate Professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
This award recognizes faculty who have shown unusually significant achievement in their field of research. Awardees receive a $2,000 permanent stipend. 

Regents Distinguished Teaching Award
Dr. Jennifer Glenn — Teaching Associate Professor, Industrial Engineering and Management
This award recognizes faculty who have shown unusually significant achievement in the instruction of students for an extended number of years. Awardees receive a $2,000 permanent stipend.

Newly Appointed Chair and Professorship Holders
Dr. Hanchen Huang — Dean, College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology
Medallions are presented to outstanding faculty who have been recently appointed to endowed chair and professorship positions. These faculty are dedicated to advancing their fields of study and have a strong desire to share their knowledge with the next generation.

Advising Excellence Award
Anndrea Jeane — Academic Advisor II, Student Academic Services
This award provides institutional recognition for outstanding academic advising by faculty and staff.
