Vet Med Class of 1968 Celebrates 50th Reunion

Thursday, May 17, 2018

Twenty-eight members of the Class of 1968 recently returned to Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences to celebrate their 50th class reunion. Hosted by Sharon Worrell, alumni affairs and events specialist at the veterinary center, this class had the largest reunion participation in the center’s 70-year history.

Classmates and their guests spent time reminiscing and touring the veterinary center and OSU’s Stillwater campus. Dean Dr. Carlos Risco visited with the class and shared news about the state of the veterinary center.

During the Hooding Ceremony for the Class of 2018, Dean Risco mentioned some of the many accomplishments of the Class of 1968, demonstrating to these new veterinarians the variety of career choices available to those who earn a DVM degree.

High points of their collective careers include establishing private practices, serving in the military, participating in and leading veterinary medical organizations, teaching, earning prestigious awards, authoring books and columns, and volunteering in their respective communities.
