OKC mental health hospital groundbreaking marks milestone for advancing care

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services partnered with Oklahoma State University Thursday to celebrate a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Donahue Behavioral Health facility.

A lifelong Sandite who attended Sand Springs Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, Wray's career and character embodies the qualities the Hall of Fame seeks in its inductees. Wray, now the senior vice president for executive affairs at Oklahoma State University, was inducted Thursday night during a ceremony at Bright Morning Farms in Sand Springs.

Frank ‘Pistol Pete’ Eaton inducted into National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum

The descendants of U.S. Deputy Marshal Frank Boardman Eaton will be able to speak of the night Pistol Pete was inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum with some of the biggest names in Hollywood on hand. Eaton, who was the inspiration for Oklahoma State University’s mascot, died 64 years ago, but his spirit lived on Saturday in Oklahoma City. His family and 28 former Pistol Pete mascots were on hand to accept the award as Eaton was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners.
