OSUTeach Graduates Recognized

The first graduating class of OSUTeach students was recognized during a special reception on April 3.  Thirteen graduates were honored at the event, which included a short program and remarks by President Burns Hargis. Graduates will receive their degrees during the undergraduate commencement ceremony on May 12, 2018.

OSUTeach was established in 2014 and is the first and only UTeach program in Oklahoma. As a secondary mathematics and science teacher preparation program, it aims to attract a wide range of bright science and mathematics majors into secondary teaching careers, prepare them through an advanced field-intensive curriculum and promote professional retention through induction support and ongoing professional development. The program is a collaboration between the Oklahoma State University College of Education, Health and Aviation and the College of Arts and Sciences.

“What makes this program special are the students,” said Caitlin Barnes, program coordinator. “OSUTeach students are fiercely dedicated to making difference in the lives of their students. They support and care about each other, and they inspire me every day.”
