EHA Student to Compete in 2018 Miss Oklahoma USA
Wednesday, December 6, 2017
College of Education, Health and Aviation senior Caroline Bullard will be competing in this year’s Miss Oklahoma USA pageant. Bullard is pursuing a degree in English Education and has a passion for both pageantry and teaching.
Since competing in her first pageant in high school and being crowned Miss Chisholm, Bullard has continued to follow her passion by competing in the Miss USA system. After winning the title of Miss Enid USA last year, Bullard is excited to compete this year in Miss Oklahoma USA as Miss Northern Oklahoma USA.
“Through pageants I have learned how to ace an interview, be confident in who I am and spread my passion for anti-bullying in a powerful way.”
One of Bullard’s favorite organizations to volunteer for is 4 R Kids. This nonprofit located in Enid provides vocational opportunities for adults and children with disabilities, while also raising awareness for these individuals.
“I love working with the people at 4 R Kids because they focus on what people can do, not what they cannot do.”
Along with her passion for pageantry, Bullard has a passion for education. Although it has been challenging to balance the two, she always puts school first. After graduation, Bullard plans to move to Oklahoma City to teach middle school language arts.
Bullard is thankful for the supportive community she has in Stillwater and the College of Education, Health and Aviation.
“I hope to represent Oklahoma teachers well at Miss Oklahoma USA and speak out about the importance of quality education and the future of education in our state.”
The Miss Oklahoma USA competition will be hosted December 15-17 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
