OSU music industry program named a top music business school by Billboard Magazine

The Greenwood School of Music’s music industry program was recognized as a top music business school by Billboard Magazine in its October 2022 issue. OSU was listed alongside just 37 other schools, including Abbey Road Institute, Howard University, Los Angeles College of Music and Pepperdine University.

OSU psychology professor advances novel theory about moral judgment

Dr. Daniel Sznycer, an assistant professor in Oklahoma State University’s Department of Psychology, recently published research on moral judgment in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. “This paper shows the first proof that dilemmas trigger a well-designed cognitive system for making tradeoffs between conflicting moral values,” Sznycer said.

OSU physics professor and students develop technology to test radiation in space

Around 100 kilometers above the Earth, outer space starts. And right on that edge — called the Kármán line — is where a growing interest in space tourism and a need for new research is beginning. On that edge is also where a team of researchers at Oklahoma State University is focusing to understand how radiation works in the atmosphere and its impact on technology and people. Dr. Eric Benton, a radiation physicist at OSU’s College of Arts and Sciences, is leading the research with his team at OSU and has a radiation detector set to fly on a Blue Origin rocket in 2023.

Inaugural CAS Golf Scramble a big hit at Karsten Creek

The spring of 2022 had Oklahoma State University alumni and friends swinging at the inaugural College of Arts and Sciences Golf Scramble hosted by CAS at the scenic Karsten Creek Golf Club just outside of Stillwater. The event raised funds for the Dean’s Excellence Fund, which helps to provide student scholarships.

OSU’s nationally recognized sports media program provides unique opportunities for success

Four words used to describe OSU’s School of Media and Strategic Communications sports media program by four of its members: a professor who helped start the program, a sports announcer nicknamed “The Voice of the Cowboys” and two award-winning students. The program is the first stand-alone sports media degree among NCAA-FBS member institutions, and its success is evident in the 364 graduates it has produced since beginning in 2010.

OSU sociology professor receives $2.7M NIH grant to study cognitive aging

OSU computer science program earns ABET accreditation

Oklahoma State University’s computer science program received accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) on Aug. 31. The accreditation applies retroactively from October 2020 onward and includes OSU’s Stillwater, Tulsa and online CS programs.
