Burlington’s Travis Bradshaw receives CASNR Alumni Early Career Achievement Award

Oklahoma State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Alumni Board recently honored Travis Bradshaw of Burlington, Oklahoma, as a 2019 Early Career Achievement Award recipient at the 2019 CASNR Scholarships and Award Banquet.
The award winners are selected by the CASNR Alumni board for their outstanding achievement in the early years of their careers.
“Travis Bradshaw has always had a passion for teaching,” said Lewis Cunningham, Alumni Board president. “Today, Travis is still working closely with OSU and CASNR professors to expose his students to the vast programs available and provide more opportunities for his students.”
Bradshaw earned both of his degrees from the OSU Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership. Bradshaw graduated with a master’s degree in agricultural education in 2018 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in agricultural education in 2004 from Oklahoma State. During his time at OSU, he was named the outstanding agricultural education senior in 2004 and served as a Freshmen in Transition (FIT) Student Academic Mentor (SAM) for the inaugural year of the program in 2000.
Bradshaw is the agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor at Burlington Public Schools in Burlington, Oklahoma. Beyond the classroom, he serves as the U.S. Department of Education representative on the National FFA Organization Board of Directors. Bradshaw also has served as president of the Oklahoma Agricultural Education Teachers Association and the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education.
“CASNR and the Agricultural Education program provided me with the foundation to build a successful career in education,” he said. “The best part about being a teacher is helping my students plan for their own future careers.”
For the past 15 years, while serving as an agricultural educator at Burlington, Bradshaw has coached multiple state winning teams and speakers. He also has taught 27 American FFA Degree recipients and 51 State FFA Degree recipients during his teaching career. Bradshaw has continued to share his passion for the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources with his students, with 10 former students receiving degrees from CASNR: four currently are enrolled and one accepted for the 2019-2020 academic year.
