Editor's note: The U.S. News and World Report will release its graduate school rankings for 2024 Best Medical Schools, Best Engineering Schools and Best Clinical Psychology programs at a later date. This story will be updated.

Several Oklahoma State University graduate degree programs appeared in the annual “U.S. News and World Report” Best Graduate Schools rankings with the Spears School of Business making the largest gain in the 2025 list.

Spears Business moved up 22 spots as it tied at No.76 in the overall best business school category, which is 22 spots higher than OSU’s ranking last year. It places OSU ahead of Big 12 Conference schools like the University of Oklahoma, Texas Tech University and West Virginia University.

In the Business Part-Time MBA category, OSU ranked in the top 25%, tied at No. 60. For more information on graduate business education at OSU, visit the MBA website at okla.st/31DedZX.

The College of Education and Human Sciences tied at No. 71 in the overall best education schools category, moving up five spots from its ranking two years ago, ahead of OU, Kansas State University, and Baylor University. For more information on education graduate programs, visit okla.st/3sDJ1pk.

The College of Arts and Sciences saw several of its graduate programs make the 2025 list. Speech language pathology at No. 103 surpassed nearly half the field in this overall category, and computer science came in at No. 148. For more information on CAS graduate programs, go to okla.st/3IL9VD6.

The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology ranked No. 77 among public institutions and improved to No. 111 overall.

“While CEAT continues to ascend, we are proud of the recognition that our faculty and students have earned,” said Hanchen Huang, dean of CEAT.

CEAT ranked extremely well in 12 of the 13 engineering categories.

CEAT’s electronic/electrical/communications engineering ranking improved 20 spots to No. 102 and OSU ranked No. 96 in computer engineering after not appearing in the ranking last year.

In mechanical engineering, OSU improved 10 spots to No. 77 — No. 48 among public institutions. OSU also improved two spots in the industrial/manufacturing/systems engineering and petroleum engineering categories to No. 36 — No. 26 among public institutions — and No. 16 respectively.

In aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical engineering OSU tied at No. 55 ahead of OU. In agricultural engineering OSU improved one spot to No. 20. OSU remained No. 90 in chemical engineering, No. 77 in civil engineering and environmental/environmental health engineering, as well as No. 96 in materials engineering.

“CEAT’s engineering programs prepare students for successful and rewarding careers, helping them provide novel engineering solutions to challenging problems faced in today’s world,” said Sunderesh Heragu, CEAT associate dean. “The U.S. News rankings affirm the high-quality education students receive at reasonable cost.”
