Remembrance Garden set to open with commemoration April 23

For many years, the southeastern corner of Oklahoma State University’s campus was the first thing thousands of students saw as they arrived for college. On April 23, a Remembrance Garden will open to once again bring significance to the area. A special remembrance service will also take place to honor students and employees who have passed away in the past year.

OSU, Stillwater community unite for MLK Day march

For the second consecutive year, OSU and Stillwater Community United (SCU) collaborated on the unity march, which included speakers like OSU President Kayse Shrum and Stillwater Mayor Will Joyce. The SCU march joined with the OSU crowd of students, professors and faculty at the Spears School of Business to hear university and city leaders speak.

UHS hits COVID vaccination milestone

UHS has vaccinated more than 5,000 members of the university community since it began administering the Pfizer vaccine in January. By Friday, UHS will surpass the 6,000 mark, and, with Monday’s announcement that Oklahoma has entered Phase 3 for vaccine eligibility, there’s more good news to come.

Senior celebrates family’s history of Black women farmers through award-winning artwork

Studio Art senior Shyanne Dickey recently won OSU’s Division of Student Affairs Celebrating Black Lives Art Contest with her piece, “Reigning Black Women Farmers.” Dickey, who hails from Tucson, Arizona, ventured outside her normal medium of oil paints to create the digital print. The collage of edited photos depicts six generations of women from Dickey’s family who have worked farmland in rural west Kansas for more than 150 years.

Homecoming events canceled for 2020

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the OSU Alumni Association will be unable to host the 2020 edition of America’s Greatest Homecoming. The centennial celebration originally scheduled for Oct. 26-31 will now be planned for fall 2021.

Oklahoma State University announces new vice president for Student Affairs
