In October 2021, a ceremonial groundbreaking was held where two existing buildings, donated by the state and just across the street from OSUMC, will be renovated into the new Veterans Hospital in Tulsa.

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry was awarded a $500,000 grant by the United States Department of Agriculture to study mental health conditions of farmers and ranchers in Oklahoma, as well as develop ways to assist rural Oklahomans struggling with their mental health. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture has partnered with OSU Center for Health Sciences and OSU Extension to spearhead this initiative.

Middleton takes on role as next alumni board president

After graduating in 2013, Middleton completed the OSU family medicine residency program and then a sports medicine fellowship at Texas A&M. He returned to Oklahoma and he now practices at McBride Orthopedic Hospital in Oklahoma City and is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at OU Health Sciences Center.
