National graphic design competition selects work of 12 OSU students

OSU Jazz Orchestra releases third album, ‘Angular Tuesday’

The OSU Jazz Orchestra added to its discography with the release of its third commercially-available album, “Angular Tuesday,” on February 6. The eight songs on the album — directed by Dr. Tommy Poole — vary in style from Swing to Latin Jazz to Jazz Fusion and feature three different iterations of the ensemble from 2020 to 2023. The title track on the album was composed and arranged by former Oklahoma State University student Matthew Howell.

New endowed chair announced for Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

On Jan. 26, the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University announced the addition of a new endowed chair thanks to the Edward E. and Helen T. Bartlett Foundation. The new chair is the fifth endowed faculty position at OSU committed by the foundation. The Bartlett Foundation previously established the Harrison I. Bartlett Chair in Chemistry; the Edward E. Bartlett Professorship of Pedagogy in Chemistry; the Edward E. Bartlett Professorship of Pedagogy in Integrative Biology; and the Bartlett Chair in Chemical Engineering.

Psychology professor publishes new research on sound-meaning associations in foreign languages

An exhibition of works by Kansas-born Cherokee artist Hattie Lee Mendoza opened at the Gardiner Gallery of Art in the Bartlett Center on Oklahoma State University’s Stillwater campus on Tuesday, Jan. 16. “Hattie Lee Mendoza: Gathering Joy” is the first solo exhibition in Oklahoma for the Illinois-based artist.

On Jan. 10 and 11, Oklahoma State University once again welcomed state and regional groundwater professionals to the annual Oklahoma Ground Water Association Conference and Trade Show. This is the third year OSU has hosted the event, which provides education, training and networking opportunities for attendees. “The aim of the conference is to connect professionals across all areas of the Oklahoma groundwater industry so that they may have a place to share ideas and learn through continuing education courses,” said OGWA President David Correll.
