Trevor Hughes of Morrison Okla. got quite the surprise this past Wednesday when he found out he would be receiving a $60,000 scholarship from electric utility company OGE Energy Corp. Morrison school superintendent Brent Haken helped organize a celebratory parade of friends and Oklahoma Natural Gas and Electric (OG&E) representatives to drive past Hughes’ house with congratulatory messages when he found out Hughes was receiving the scholarship.

Unexpected support bolsters junior

The music junior sometimes encounters unexpected challenges working toward her goal of becoming a music teacher. WFC awards $17,000 to 23 students

The Oklahoma State University Women’s Faculty Council recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with its annual research awards and the inaugural OSU Faculty Poster Symposium. At the student research award ceremony, $17,000 was awarded to 23 students. Colleges and divisions throughout OSU sponsored the funding. Out of 75 applications, the 23 awardees were made up of 11 doctoral candidates, eight master’s degree students and four undergraduates.

OSU students awarded $166,500 in Wentz research grants

Thanks to the generosity of the Lew Wentz Foundation, 37 OSU undergraduates representing five of the six colleges on the Stillwater campus have been named Wentz Research Scholars and will receive a total of $166,500 in financial aid for the 2019-2020 academic year.
