OSU startup to be recognized at national showcase

Oklahoma State University affiliated startup Roll-2-Roll Technologies LLC has been selected to participate in the 2019 University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Showcase in Washington, D.C. on April 10, according to the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities and the Association of American Universities. Roll-2-Roll will be one of 20 startups featured in the showcase.

Third CEAT faculty member wins 2019 NSF CAREER award

Shuodao Wang, assistant professors in Oklahoma State University’s (OSU) school of mechanical and aerospace engineering (MAE), has been awarded the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program award, NSF’s most prestigious award in support of early-career faculty. Wang joins Jindal Shah and Ashlee Ford Versypt, both from OSU’s school of chemical engineering, as a 2019 recipient.

OSU's USRI receives first FAA authorization to fly unmanned aircraft in swarms

OSU’s Unmanned Systems Research Institute (USRI) received its certificate of authorization from the FAA to permit flights of a fixed wing aircraft swarm within national airspace, making them the first in the country to receive this authorization.

OSU's Imraan Faruque research recognized to keep beehive buzzing

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) recently recognized Imraan Faruque, assistant professor in mechanical and aerospace engineering and director of the autonomous physics laboratory at OSU, as one of 25 awardees of the 2019 Young Investigator Program (YIP). In addition to the recognition, the program also provides a grant up to $750k for up to three years to support a related research project.

OSU-USRI performs first-of-its-kind BVLOS flights

Oklahoma State University - Unmanned Systems Research Institute (OSU-USRI) conducted its first Beyond Visual Line of Site (BVLOS) research test flights on Dec. 18. The team operated unmanned aircraft within the national airspace system (NAS) at distances beyond the visual site of the pilot at the controls.
