Mel Lantz Receives National Counseling Psychology Award

Mel Lantz, assistant professor in counseling and counseling psychology, has received the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP) Early Career Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to Counseling Psychology. This award is presented by the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 17 and honors distinguished scientific contributions by an early career psychologist to the field of counseling psychology.

Professor Emeritus Receives Prestigious Award

Dr. Robert S. Christenson, professor emeritus of health education in the OSU College of Education, Health and Aviation, is the recipient of the 2018 Honor Award, the most prestigious award presented by the Oklahoma Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (OAHPRED). The award recognizes excellence in teaching; outstanding administrative achievement; contribution to research and professional publications; leadership in state, district and national professional associations; and meritorious service within the profession.

OSU Graduate Students Awarded $8,000 Counseling Fellowship

The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Foundation recently selected two Oklahoma State University graduate students for the NBCC Minority Fellowship Program-Youth (MFP-Y). Chabreal Atkins McDaniel and Y. Ade Bakare will each receive $8,000 to support their education and facilitate their service to underserved minority populations, with a specific focus on transition-age youth (ages 16-25).
