Eighteen faculty, staff and administrators from the Colleges of Education, Health, and Aviation and Human Sciences received university-wide recognition at the 2019 Convocation Dec. 11. Awards highlighted interdisciplinary research, teaching and global education.

The fashion design and production and merchandising programs in the OSU College of Human Sciences have been ranked among the top 15 programs in the country for 2019, according to Fashion-Schools.org. The fashion design and production program ranks seventh nationally among public schools and 14th nationally among both public and private schools offering similar programs. The merchandising program ranks 11th nationally among public schools and 15th nationally among both public and private schools. Specifically in the southwest region, the OSU programs are ranked second and third respectively among fashion design and merchandising schools.

Faculty in each of four academic units in the College of Human Sciences – the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising; the Department of Human Development and Family Science; the Department of Nutritional Sciences; and the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management – selected two Seniors of Distinction for their respective units.

For the eighth straight year, apparel design and production students’ creations will be featured in a high-energy, runway fashion show produced by the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising (DHM) in the College of Human Sciences.
