OSU honors resilience, community at Survivor Tree Rededication
The Oklahoma State University community gathered Friday near Theta Pond to rededicate the campus’s Survivor Tree, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing.
University Arborist Caitlin Gipson, who works with the landscaping department to maintain roughly 870 acres across the Stillwater campus, said receiving the award for a decade straight demonstrates her department’s commitment to protecting the campus forest environment and all that it brings to OSU.

Oklahoma State University has been recognized by Oklahoma Forestry Services and the Oklahoma Urban and Community Forestry Council for achieving national certification — the Tree Campus USA designation — from the Arbor Day Foundation. It’s the eighth year in a row OSU has earned the certification.
