Oklahoma State University has honored seven top research faculty with the 2018 Regents Distinguished Research Award. Recipients are selected based on evidence of outstanding and meritorious research achievements and are recognized nationally and internationally in their fields of study. The winners were recognized Dec. 3 at the University Awards Convocation.

Tomko Wins First Place and People’s Choice at College 3MT Competition

Patrick Tomko, a doctoral student in health and human performance, won first place, the People’s Choice Award and a $600 cash prize at the College of Education, Health and Aviation’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition on Oct. 24.

Nathaniel Jenkins Recognized as Outstanding Young Investigator of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association

Nathaniel Jenkins, assistant professor in health and human performance has been named the Terry J. Housh Outstanding Young Investigator of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). The award recognizes noteworthy contributions to the field of applied exercise or sport science by a researcher who has been in the field for seven years or less.

Moghaddam Wins People’s Choice at OSU President’s Fellows Grand Three Minute Challenge

Masoud Moghaddam, Ph.D. student in health and human performance, won the People’s Choice Award and a $2,000 cash prize at the President’s Fellows Grand Three Minute Challenge (3MC) on April 24. Moghaddam has now won People’s Choice at all three competitions he participated in this year using his research presentation, “Move Out of Your Comfort Zone: High Intensity Interval Training Delays Early Muscle Aging.”
