Long-time Tulsa beverage manager and educator Tony Collins has been named director of the Wayne Hirst Center for Beverage Education at the Oklahoma State University School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM). Collins brings nearly 20 years of experience with restaurants, craft breweries and special events, including consumer education and employee training, to the Stillwater campus.

Bender hopes to incorporate philanthropy into career

The actuarial and financial mathematics senior recently earned a Women for OSU scholarship for her philanthropy and community service. According to Oklahoma State University researcher Kimberly Houser, the answer is to address the source of the problem – human decision-making. Her soon-to-be published research shows that using machine decision-making through artificial intelligence (AI) can remove unconscious bias and “noise” from the hiring and promotion process and begin making the workplace reflect a diverse society.
