CAS Awards Banquet honors students

The Oklahoma State University College of Arts and Sciences recognized its outstanding students and awarded 94 scholarships worth $215,000 during its annual awards banquet April 10 in the Student Union. The honors included the CAS Top 10 Seniors and each department's Outstanding Senior.

OSU speakers forum to discuss Vietnam War

The Vietnam War and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be key topics of discussion April 19 at the Oklahoma State University history department’s speakers forum The Vietnam War: Contested Legacies and Memories. The free event is scheduled for 3:30-5 p.m. in Room 035 of South Murray Hall on the Stillwater campus and features three military history experts.

Education alumna recognized for early career literacy advocacy efforts

Mollie Tully-Detamore, Oklahoma State University alumna, has received the Oklahoma Higher Education Reading Council Beginning Teacher Award. This award is given to a teacher in his or her first three years of teaching who is dedicated to literacy development and literacy integration in the classroom. Tully-Detamore was recognized for her efforts at the Oklahoma Literacy Association Annual Conference on the OSU-Tulsa campus on April 6.

Teacher Feature: Michelle Rahn

Michelle Rahn graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Teaching, Learning and Leadership, option in mathematics and science education. An 11-year teaching veteran, Rahn currently teaches science and gifted science at Will Rogers Junior High School in Claremore, Okla. Rahn also coaches an after-school science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) club.
